The Biggest Loser: A Love/Hate Relationship
So if you’re like me and millions of other Americans, you’ve seen at least a few episodes (or seasons) of The Biggest Loser and drawn some parallels to your own situation. For me, this has ranged from “thank God I’m not that big” to “well damn, food does have an emotional hold on me.” Pre-Paleo I used to watch the show while gorging on a few slices of pizza as if to gloat the fact that I didn’t weigh 300+ pounds. But the truth is, I had the same mindset as a lot of the folks on the show: struggling with weight loss and being unable to break free from body image issues. Now that I’m eating right, training smart and getting plenty of sleep (still working on quality), I’ve have a few more critiques of a show I used to enjoy so much. Love The show is an... 30 Days to Change Your Life
anuary is a time to cast off all the physical and emotional baggage of an entire year and give yourself a chance to start fresh. I’m usually not one for resolutions, but this year, I’m supporting the CrossFit Love 30-Day Paleo Challenge. There’s no better time than now to make a lifestyle change so that you can start feeling better today. Paleo Egg Nog
You didn’t think it was possible, but you can indeed enjoy some tasty eggnog during the holidays. Don’t get too carried away with the sweetener especially if you’re trying to stick to a goal, but this is definitely much less sinful than what you’re used to. I adapted this from two different recipes (here and here). 8 eggs, separated into yolks and whites 1 can of coconut milk (13.5oz) 4-6 tablespoons maple syrup (to desired level of sweetness) 2 teaspoons vanilla essence nutmeg cinnamon brandy, cognac, or spiced rum (optional) Begin by separating the yolks from the whites into two... Is the Paleo Lifestyle Right For Me?
t may seem like a trick or some kind of snake oil ad, but the truth is, the Paleo lifestyle can do all of this if you trust the science and stay patient. Results may take some time, especially when it comes to fat loss; remember, you didn’t put that fat on overnight, so don’t expect it to come off overnight. Let’s start by taking a look at what the Paleo is and is not Paleo is: A lifestyle, not a fad diet Believe me when I say that sticking with Paleo and seeing the results you want to see... Why Paleo?
his blog serves to not only document my own journey with the Paleo lifestyle, but to inspire and educate others to be the best versions of themselves that they could possibly be. And while I’m not one for self-help mumbo jumbo, I do believe in the raw power and potential that comes from a boost in confidence. For many of us, that lack of confidence comes from our bodies, be it despising what’s looking back at us in the mirror, unfulfilled athletic pursuits, dreams of a body lost in time and fat, or just a general malaise and bleak outlook...
